Day 8. Omit 1 meal today – Pray that we be obedient to God and fearless so that we can see His promises and go beyond Jordan. “I pray thee, let me go over, and see the good land that is beyond Jordan…” (Deut. 3:25). Pray for a holy hunger for all, and a holy homesickness for the wayward (Matthew 5:6, Romans 8:18-30). Pray that prodigals would be constantly reminded of what it was like to be in fellowship with God (I Chronicles 16:12); that they would long for the cleansing relationship they once had (Isaiah 1:18).

  • 30 Days of Prayer – Day #7

Day 7. Omit 1 meal today – Pray for a spiritually-caused famine to afflict the wayward to motivate them to come home (Luke 15:16, I Corinthians 5:5); that anything or anyone the backslider is placing their trust in, outside of the Lord, would be removed from their life. Pray that whatever once brought them pleasure would become empty, that the novelty of their situation will fade.
